This is an internal procedure that is mandatory for the production of all Standard Project Procedures applicable to Projects.
This procedure applies to all persons who identify the need for and wish to create an SPP.
Standard Project Procedures are used to mandate requirements on Projects, and as such are subject to the "localised" stakeholder review arrangements described in this document. Where the need is identified to prescribe requirements on Maintenance or Operations and Customer Services, a multifunctional document (work instruction / specification) should be submitted via the Company Standards Group. Further advise on this can be obtained from the National Standards Manager at HQ.
Purpose
This purpose of this procedure is to control the creation, modification and withdrawal of Standard Project Procedures (SPP) within Projects in support of Network Rail Standards NR/CS/STP/001 and NR/SP/STP/90. The intent is to ensure that proposed SPP documents are owned and supported by Senior Management, are reviewed by appropriately competent people, and are briefed and made available to all applicable staff.
SPP documents provide Projects Senior Management with the means to define and implement Management System requirements and where applicable, to support the implementation of Group and Company Standards and Specifications, Railway Safety Case and GRIP.
