This document specifies the requirements for optical fibre cables for external use containing step-index optical fibres supporting singlemode propagation in accordance with ITU-T Recommendation G.652. The requirements of this specification are mandatory.
Armoured, single-sheathed duct and ZHLS versions are specified. The type of cable and the number of fibres will be specified on the order.
Purpose
This document is for use in procuring polyethylene sheathed and ZHLS sheathed optical fibre trunk telecommunications cables.
