Introduction

Group Standard RT/GC5202, Vegetation - Managing The Risk, requires that all risks posed to the operation of the railway, including those posed to signal sighting by lineside vegetation be assessed and addressed.

Company Standard RT/CE/S/075, Management of Lineside Vegetation is currently in draft form and will define the minimum requirements in respect of signal sighting.

In view of the current postion with lineside vegetation growth across the network and the risk of interference with drivers sighting of signals (and the resultant risk of SPADS), the minimum requiremtns specific to signal sighting are incorporated in this PWSI.
