This specification applies to track ballast directly returned to the track by on-track ballast cleaning machines for use in running lines owned by Railtrack.
It does not apply to new ballast, to ballast recycled by non-track-mounted plant, or to aggregates used in conjunction with a stoneblowing machine.
PURPOSE
