This Specification applies to the data within the GEOGIS database as defined in Specification RT/CE/S/059 being within the responsibility of the Railtrack Director's Nominees and to the database itself as a whole. It covers the requirements regarding how the database must be operated.

PURPOSE

This Specification gives the requirements for operation of the GEOGIS database in terms of:

• data quality i.e. what data is mandatory for any asset and when such data must be added, removed or amended.

• availability i.e. at what times and to what levels the database must be made available for use and to whom.

• usability i.e. what conformance is required to constraints inherent in the database design.

• control i.e. what measures must be taken to ensure integrity of the database including levels of authorisation required for specific activities.
