This procedure applies to conductor rails on all D.C. Electrified Lines except at depots and other locations where the responsibility for such action rests with Train Operating Units and others.

Purpose

This procedure sets out the requirements for the application of de-icing fluid to the contact surface of conductor rails necessary to ensure that current collection by electric trains remains effective throughout the period of adverse winter weather.
