Introduction

This procedure covers all thermit welding applications on AC & DC Electrified Lines.

This procedure is issued complete to Regions. On redistribution to Areas and Depots, the sections not relevant to the recipient should be excluded and identified as such. Likewise when this procedure is issued to Contractors, only the general procedure and appendices relevant to the contract will be included.

Materials and Equipment to be used refer to Track Welding Equipment, Contract Advice No. 1127/D. Where alternatives exist by varying manufacturers the materials and equipment are fully interchangeable and compatible with each other.
