Introduction

The Working Instructions for DC Electrified Lines requires an Isolation of the Conductor Rail before commencing preplanned work.

It is a requirement that the person in charge of the isolation has had the necessary training in the procedures to be adopted by the appropriate Working Instructions. Before the Electrical Control Room Operator sanctions the granting of an Isolation, he must be satisfied that the person requesting the isolation has been trained in the duties. The employing manager of these persons must therefore advise the appropriate electrical control room in advance as in the following way:
