This specification applies to the physical security measures which apply at electrical control room buildings. The specification shall be applied in full at all new control room buildings, and as practical where security is to be improved at an existing electrical control room building.

Where a site is shared with other departments or companies, the requirements herein shall be met in so far as practical. Where access to the building is shared by other departments or companies, access to the operational control room and equipment rooms shall be restricted by suitable means, and the requirements herein shall be met in so far as practical.

The specification does not include requirements for site installation or commissioning works.

The document is to be read in conjunction with Railtrack Line specification RT/E/S/21000, "Operational, Environmental and General Requirements for Remote Control Equipment for Electrical Distribution Systems" and the relevant procurement specification.
