This specification applies to all low voltage a.c. changeover equipment and similar assemblies associated with the electric traction distribution system.

Low voltage normally exceeds extra-low voltage 50 V a.c. but not exceeding 1000 V a.c. between conductors or 600 V a.c. between conductors and earth.

Purpose

This specification states the Directorate's minimum periodic maintenance requirements for low voltage a.c. changeover equipment and similar assemblies, associated with the electric traction distribution system in order to ensure its safety and reliability.

The specification shall be used in conjunction with RT/E/S/21111, which contains the general requirements for maintenance of electrical and plant equipment, together with definitions and abbreviations.
