This specification applies to all high voltage transformers rated above 10 kVA, including all oil filled free breathing and sealed-tank overhead line booster transformers, but excluding equipment installed in depots and stations which are specified in Railtrack Company specification RT/E/S/40004 Core Maintenance Specification for Non-Traction Electrical Sub-Stations in Depots or Stations.

Purpose

This specification states the Directorate's minimum periodic maintenance requirements for high voltage transformers rated above 10 kVA in order to ensure the safety and reliability of the electrical distribution system.

The specification shall be used in conjunction with RT/E/S/21111 General Requirements for Maintenance of Electrical and Plant Equipment, which contains the general requirements for maintenance of electrical and plant equipment, together with definitions and abbreviations.
