This specification applies to all medium and high speed d.c. circuit breakers and contactors forming part of the electric traction distribution system.

Purpose

This specification states the Directorate's minimum periodic maintenance requirements for d.c. circuit breakers and their associated trucks and switchgear assemblies in order to ensure the safety and reliability of the electric traction distribution system.

The specification shall be used in conjunction with RT/E/S/21111, which contains the general requirements for maintenance of electrical and plant equipment, together with definitions and abbreviations.
