Introduction

This Instruction covers the maintenance procedure for Type K11 25kV A.C. switchgear on 25kV A.C. electrified lines.

Defects found during the course of the work, whether within the scope of this instruction or not, must be noted on the Record Sheet and dealt with at the same time if this is immediately necessary.

Before commencing any work, which is likely to affect any auxiliary power supplies, including stand-by supplies, the user must be consulted.

Switching, Isolation and Permit to Work Procedure must be followed as appropriate. 

When circuit breaker tanks are lowered, the cover plate must be fitted over the tank.

The number of fault operations determining the need for a Special Examination shall be counted as from the previous oil change.
