Introduction

This instruction details the examination and test requirements for a Primary Insulator Pole to establish if it is electrically safe to be issued for use on Live 25kV Overhead line equipment.

This instruction covers any Primary Insulator Pole which is used by staff at Distribution Depots, Overhead Line Depots, Traction and Rolling Stock Depots and any other staff issued with the equipment.

Reference in this specification to 'the Engineer' means the Area Electrification Engineer or the Director of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, BRB (H.Q.)
