Introduction

This document details the requirements for the preparation, care and maintenance of local earths and must be applied by all staff using local earths on the Overhead Line Electrification System.

For the application and removal of local earths, see Code of Practice EHQ/CP/S/136.

Suitable systems for the issue and identification of local earths and the keeping of records shall be established in accordance with local requirements. These systems are therefore not detailed in this document.
