This instruction covers the attachment of spanwire clamps to 19/2.1mm (19/0.083") and 19/1.854mm (19/0.073") cross spanwires during construction or maintenance work which is to be undertaken in all areas which have overhead electrified lines.
Purpose
The purpose of this instruction is to detail the method to be adopted by British Rail or Contractor's staff when installing and adjusting cross spanwire to tube clamps (spider clamps), Ref. nos. 122/022/001 and 122/022/002 (BR cat. no. 91/10656) during electrification construction or maintenance work.
