These instructions shall be read in conjunction with Instructions for Making Out, Issuing and Cancelling Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test and Circuit State Certificates BR 12011/1, the Working Instructions for A.C. Electrified Lines BR 29987 and the appropriate Operation and Maintenance procedures for electricity supplies to B.R. Feeder Stations.

Purpose

The following instructions apply only to the indoor type 25kV switchgear located in Feeder Stations, Track Sectioning Cabins and Auxiliary Supply Cabins on the Euston- Manchester-Liverpool electrified lines and known as Switchgear and Cowans type K11. They set out the procedure to be carried out in connection with the issue of H.V. Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test or Circuit State Certificates to enable work to be carried out on this equipment or the cable connections thereto.
