This process sets out the financial authorities of all staff involved in committing external expenditure on projects, services and supplies, which shall include contracts for infrastructure maintenance, permanent way renewal, and property maintenance.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to define limits of permitted delegation of procurement and expenditure authority within Railtrack, to specify the method of seeking approval at each authority level, and to ensure adequate segregation of duties in the procurement process.

The defined limits of delegated authority described in this procedure shall be in accordance with those stated in the Corporate Manual, that may be amended from time to time.
