This Procedure applies to Signallers, Crossing Keepers and their managers. It also applies to any person who may be required to undertake assessment of Signallers and Crossing Keepers, or any person who undertakes management checks and verification of the assessment process.

PURPOSE

To specify the management system for the assessment of competence for Signallers and Crossing Keepers. To ensure that the standards and associated documentation are kept up to date following any rule changes, or other associated changes in working practices that may affect a Signallers or Crossing Keepers duties. This Procedure will ensure compliance with the relevant requirements of Regulations 1,2 & 3 of the Railway (Safety Critical Work) Regulations 1994.
