This Notice applies to all ALSTOM Mk3, Mod. State 4, Signal Modules on the Railtrack network. No other types or Mod. State of module are affected.
Purpose
A design defect has been discovered in the ALSTOM Mk3, Mod. State 4, Solid State Interlocking (SSI) Signal Module that could lead to failure to report a failed signal lamp. This Special Inspection Notice advises of this problem, requires a special test and provides for records to be made to enable later replacement.
