Introduction

This document introduces a reader who already understands railway signalling, engineering and its terminology to the Integrated Electronic Control Centre (IECC) PC SPAD Monitor (PSM) and its data preparation.

The main impact of the PSM on IECC data preparation is the requirement to advise Network Rail HQ of the need to reconfigure the PSM if Automatic Routesetting Subsystem (ARS) production data changes.

Note that if the PSM is converted to an IECC PC Logger (IPL) by disabling and removal of the SPAD detection and reporting facility, then site-specific data is no longer used and sections 2 and 3 of this document are not applicable.
