PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF DOCUMENT

The purpose of this document is to discuss the issues that need to be addressed concerning the operation and maintenance of an IECC. These include IECC related training, the spares and maintenance policy, and the support and update procedures for the IECC software and data.

The organisations responsible are named and the current policy and methods are explained.

Although the IECC Project Handbook is for a Railtrack audience, some of the material in this part of the handbook is actually the responsibility of other parts of the railway industry, normally the Infrastructure Maintenance Companies (IMCs). However all the tasks described impinge on the successful handover and running of an IECC so it is important for Railtrack to be aware of them.
