INTRODUCTION
Generally ground frame controls require the ground frame release given before a route can be set either into or out of the sidings. Within the Swindon and Bristol schemes, however, there are various ground frames where the Interlocking Requirements Specification states that the setting of a route into or out of the sidings is also able to give the ground frame release.
Within SSI8003-64 a data solution is not provided for the ground frame release to be given during route setting. This paper is based on SSI8003-64 and amends it to allow route setting ground frame release and to allow the method of operation used currently at the ground frame.
Section 5 of this paper covers traditional lever-controlled ground frames, while section 6 covers push-button ground frames.
Currently this paper does not consider the interaction between GF route setting release and automatic route setting. Where the routes over the GF points reverse are capable of being set by ARS, then consideration will need to be given as to how the ground frame release is to be cancelled after the route is unset. If the ground frame release is not cancelled, then this will prevent ARS setting routes over the ground frame normal.
Panel data, whether for a panel scheme or for simulation purposes on an IECC scheme, is unchanged from SSI8003-64, and so not covered by this paper.
