This TI applies to all staff who have a role to play in the Inspection process at level crossings, i.e., IME's, TME's, Section Managers (Off Track), STME's, LCIM's and ORCC's.

Purpose

This Technical Instruction is issued to:

Correct typographical errors and wrong cross references of clauses

Provide a full Defect Priority Table (Appendix A within standard), parts of which were missing from the issued standard.

Replacement of Section E and of LXi28 with revised instructions

Provide additional conditions to allow some level crossing track defects within the workbank to be reprioritised using a similar workbank management process to that used by Track Engineers for non level crossing track defects.

Clarify the STME responsibility within the workbank management process.
