This Notice applies to all Mk 0 SIMs (Part Number 604366-00) in commissioned TPWS installations. It should be read in conjunction with Technical Instruction No 8 (issue 4) which details the procedure for returning these modules to Thales Communications for reconditioning.
PURPOSE
Early TPWS installations used Signalling Interface Modules (SIMs) Part Number 604366-00, commonly known as Mk 0 SIMs. Many of these require replacement within 1 year of initial commissioning. However, to avoid confusion the decision has been taken to replace all SIMs Part Number 604366-00 with modified SIMs Part Number 604366-10 or 604366-20. This TI details the requirement and method for replacement.
