This Technical Instruction applies to all TPWS installations that are required for Signal Passed at Danger (SPAD) protection at RETB locations.

PURPOSE

This Technical Instruction describes RETB TPWS scheme requirements for:

The new trackside and track mounted equipment that is required for the application of TPWS to the RETB signalling system;
The location of TPWS transmitter loops and the associated TPWS equipment at TEPs operated by the RETB system of signalling.

RETB TEPs are selected for fitment of TPWS under the criteria that is defined in TPWS/TI/037.
