Introduction

This Track Work Instruction covers how to manage staff who are acting as watchmen in a variety of situations. This may include being used to monitor:

• Track that has a defect that is in danger of buckling or failing.

• The activities of others and the effects that others may have on the integrity of the railway

• Weak embankments or slips.
