Introduction

This Track Work Instruction covers how to develop a strategy for the improvement of the track on a particular line or in a local area.

It is assumed that the resources available to implement the strategy are available. The same applies to the necessary skills of the people who will implement the strategy, although skills development might be a necessary part of the strategy. These matters will need to be considered in a wider Area or Regional context.
