Scope: This standard applies to Class II (laminar flow) biohazard cabinetry designed to minimize hazards inherent in work with agents assigned to biosafety levels 1, 2 or 3 and defines the tests which shall be passed by such cabinetry to meet this standard. This standard includes basic requirements for design, construction, and performance that are intended to provide personnel, product, and environmental protection, reliable operation, durability, cleanability, noise level, illumination, limitations on temperature rise, vibration, and electrical leakage ground circuit resistance and polarity.
