2019 ASHRAE Technology Awards: Loft Complex Saves by Optimizing Hydronics PDF

An adaptive reuse project transformed existing industrial structures to create loft type offices in Montreal. The upgrade to the 1970s-era complex included maximizing heat recovery between the two buildings, optimizing the HVAC infrastructure using non-conventional temperature setpoints, and designing the electrical and HVAC systems to be modular to make them more flexible for tenants.
