Thermal stress is a significant factor that prevents dairy cows from achieving their fullest genetic potential in terms of milk production and economic efficiency. This is usually considered a serious problem facing the dairy industry in desert climates. In Kuwait, for example, heat stress conditions exist for most of the year.

Based on the results of this study, the use of evaporative cooling is recommended to significantly shorten the periods of heat stress year-round. With an evaporative cooling efficiency of 80%, comfort conditions could be achieved for at least 75% of the year. During the remaining days, heat stress conditions will not be as severe as they usually are without cooling.
