Presents the results of a literature survey to determine the current recommended procedures for the use of evaporators in refrigerated warehouses. Factors studied include evaporator design, effect of frost accumulation, defrost performance, fan effects, costs, air distribution and unit sizing. States that the results of the survey indicate that the highest priorities for future research seem to be in the areas of frost effects, defrosting and air distribution.
