Presents a method of numerical calculation for room air flow by means of an elaborate turbulence model, known as the algebraic second-moment closure model (algebraic stress model). This model can predict the Reynolds stress distribution of the flow field more accurately than the conventional turbulence model, known as the k-epsilon model, which is based on eddy viscosity modelling. Presents the results of calculation for two-dimensional isothermal and nonisothermal flow fields in a room. The validity of the models, based on algebraic second-moment closure, is discussed.
