States a possible new working fluid, the lithium bromide + diethanolamine + water system has been proposed for air cooled absorption heat pumps. Describes measurements of the thermodynamic properties - solubility, vapour pressure, density, viscosity and heat capacity) of the system in extensive concentration and temperature ranges. All the properties measured were correlated with the proper regression equations and reports that calculated values showed good agreement with experimental values. Note the need for further investigation of characteristics such as corrosion and heat and mass transfer.

Units: Dual

KEYWORDS: year 1997, Heat pumps, absorption heat pumps, heat transfer fluids, mixtures, measuring, feasibility, air heat pumps
