Indoor pools are challenging facilities to get right. When designing a structure to enclose a swimming pool, it is necessary to completely understand what is happening inside the structure to properly control the indoor atmosphere for occupancy comfort, occupancy health, and structure preservation. A holistic, integrated approach to design is needed to ensure a successful outcome. This chapter addresses the needs of both the architectural design team and the mechanical HVAC design team. Architectural aspects are included because the building envelope must be designed to be suitable for this high-dew-point application.
