This paper addresses the history of the international air-conditioning, heating, and refrigerating expositions held in the United States from the first International Exposition of Refrigeration, held September 17 to October 1, 1913, to the most recent International Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration expositions held annually and cosponsored by the Air- Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE). Emphasis is given in the paper to the exhibits of the earliest expositions and to the evolution and maturation of the expositions as the technology advanced.
