A survey of your building's heating and air-conditioning system will no doubt reveal many of the energy-hungry applications found in the building analysis that follows. The building I describe is not real, but the problems and solutions are. They were taken from energy conservation studies done on actual buildings. A small office building is used and located in the Milwaukee area where many of the studies and actual work was done. The systems used in the study are those that are found in many buildings more than five years old.
