This Standard describes the minimum application requirements for asphalt strip shingles or low slope shingles on roofs with slopes from 1:6 to less than 1:3. Note:

Roof Substrate and Ventilation Below Substrate.

Appendix A is included to provide recommendations for acceptable substrate for shingles; Appendix B, recommendations for acceptable ventilation below the shingle substrate; Appendix C, recommendations on the application of asphalt shingles over insulation.
