In this study we performed simulations in a hypothetical building utilizing future meteorological data and conducted a case study on cooling tower capacity in terms of energetics and economics, comparing the past 20 years with 20 years in the future. The target building was an office located in Tokyo, and comparisons were made for a total of six patterns with different cooling tower cooling capacities and wet bulb temperature specifications. As a result, it was confirmed that the case of increased cooling capacity with the WB27°C (80.6°F) specification was useful in terms of both energy and economic efficiency. The results of this study will serve as a reference for the future design of cooling towers.
