CH-2447 -- Simulation of the Performance of Multizone and Variable Volume HVAC Systems in Four Geographical Locations PDF

This paper deals with the use of one such detailed thermal load prediction and system simulationprogram to study the energy consumption of a single building with various air-conditioningsystems in four geographical locations. The results of the study serve two purposes.First, they illustrate the powerful way in which the computer simulation program can be usedto investigate heating and cooling system design options. Second, the results indicate thatcertain systems are significantly less energy consuming, whether applied in Bismarck, ND orCharleston, SC.
