In designing storage to minimize shrinkage, it is necessary to limit the various sensible loads; control the evaporators to feed the refrigerant effectively and uniformly at small temperature differences; operate at the minimum temperature difference that the load requires; circulate air with minimum power input; and to use a blow-through configuration of the air unit. Coils should be constructed to minimize the bypass factor.
