CH-89-22-3 -- CBS/ICE: A Computer Program for Simulation of Ice Storage Systems PDF

Component models have been developed for performance simulation of equipment typically found in static ice storage systems. The models have been incorporated into the component-based simulator developed at a national laboratory as a part of the DOE-2 building energy analysis computer program. Several ice storage system configurations and control strategies may be defined and simulated through interconnection of these components. The current software package, called CBS/ICE, is limited to static ice-on-coil-type ice builders. This paper describes the general features of CBS/ICE and illustrates its capabilities with a sample ice storage system simulation.
