A numerical study of air movement and contaminant transport is made to predict air flow patterns, ventilation performance, and indoor air quality in a typical office space. The office room investigated is cooled by two different methods - a conventional air temperature cooling system and a cold-air-jet cooling system. Furthermore, the building may have a hot wall in one of two different positions - the same wall as the inlet opening, denoted "near-wall heating" (NWH), or on the opposite wall, denoted "far-wall heating" (FWH). In each configuration, the contamination source may have one of three positions - close to the room centre (RC), close to the near wall (NW), or close to the far wall (FW). This configuration is shown and is discussed. There are a total of 12 different cases. For each case, there is a natural convective thermal plume from the hot wall that interacts with the flow field and affects the contaminant diffusion in the room.
