Diva and OpenStudio are two integrated daylighting and energy simulation tools. In earlier studies by the authors, comparison between Diva and OpenStudio was made based on the simulation results from studying a top-lighting model. This papers expands the previous work by comparing two cases of side-lighting: a space with no shading device and one with overhang and light-shelf. For comparison, the two simulation tools have been compared in terms of Spatial Daylight Automnomy (sDA) and Annual Sunlight Exoposure (ASE), the metrics of LEED v.4. Validation of the results have been performed by experiments under real sky conditions.
