DE-93-15-3 -- Commissioning and Construction Quality Control - A New Perspective on Facility Commissioning PDF

Montgomery County government has effectively integrated commissioning into a Construction Quality Control Programme (CQC) for its capital construction and renovation projects. Presents key elements in planning and integration of commissioning into a Construction Quality Control programme. The CQC programme offers, a new framework for facility commissioning within the project management and construction process. This approach places commissioning within, not outside, the construction process yet still provides full involvement of the design engineers. A suggested procedure for the selection of the commissioning authority and a typical commissioning plan under the CQC structure is described. Results of recent capital projects using this approach are given.
