This Recommendation specifies the framework and technical requirements for distributed ledger technology (DLT) based on sharding technique. It includes:

– framework of DLT system based on sharding technique;

– core functional components of DLT system based on sharding technique;

– transaction flow of DLT system with sharding capabilities;

– technical requirements described from the perspectives of scalability, usability and security.

This Recommendation can be used as a guideline for DLT service providers to build DLT systems based on sharding technique, and for DLT system demanders to select and use a DLT system with sharding capabilities.
