This Recommendation defines the functional requirements for the interface between auto configuration server (ACS) at the cable headend or other cable operator locations and cable set-top box (STB) to remotely set up and maintain the STB and collect data from the STB. In addition, a function to enable network address translation (NAT) traversal and means to securely handle the collected data are also considered.
