This Recommendation covers the essential electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for satellite communication terminal equipment and ancillary accessories such as satellite communication mobile and portable equipment. This Recommendation also describes the applicable test conditions for emission and immunity testing. Methods of measurement and limits for emissions, test methods and levels, performance assessment, and performance criteria for immunity tests are also specified. If there is an ITU-R provision, it takes precedence over this Recommendation.

The emission and immunity requirements used in the present Recommendation are as stated in [ITU-T K.116], except for any special conditions included in this Recommendation.
