Large heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) computer programs require batch input. The data requirements for these programs, which include alphanumeric, numeric, and sometimes graphic data, usually take several months to prepare. The results of a research project to significantly reduce the time required to enter and verify such data are described in this paper.
