This research monitored the performance of an indirective evaporative cooling system in a residential building in Phoenix. The house used for this study was a model home. Although it was not occupied, there were visitors in and out continuously, especially during the weekends. A data logger was set up to record climatic conditions and indoor temperatures during the late summer monsoon period of 1985. Statistical analysis of the recorded data is included to facilitate understanding of System performace. Temperature regression models of supply air could be used for computer energy simulation of residences using this system. For the summer of 1985, the highest air temperature experienced in the living room of the test house was 85.5 F. The highest energy consumption during an average August day was about 30 kWh.
